DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — Decatur will mark the beginning of a major new development Wednesday with the groundbreaking of South Brook, an approximately 80-acre mixed-use neighborhood.
South Brook will transform the former Decatur County Country Club into a walkable community featuring homes, restaurants, neighborhood retail, offices, parks, trails, and gathering spaces.
“South Brook is more than a development project. It is an investment in Decatur’s future,” Mayor Kent Lawrence said. “What begins here today will help shape this part of our city for decades to come.”
