‘South Brook’ development to generate $1 billion construction impact

A $400 million multiuse redevelopment on the former Decatur Country Club property is expected to generate $1 billion in construction activity over the next 10 to 15 years, an official said. The Decatur City Council’s approval of the project Monday clears the way for major infrastructure improvements, including the enhancement and redundancy of utilities, the widening of Country Club Road and the expansion of the new regional trail to the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center.
